Lake Naivasha lies around 1880 meters above sea level. In comparison to other lakes like Lake Bongoria and Lake Nakuru, the lake is a fresh water lake.the lake has a different ecosystem as it is at the bottom of a volcanic crater. Its vegetation is dense and exuberant.There are also numerous birds species.

One can also take a Safari with a canoe, and go near the hipopotamus which are found in the lake. One can also take a walking safari at Cresent Island which is at the middle of the lake. Animals found here are like Zebras, Giraffe antelopes, Gazelles among others.
